We recently had the pleasure of meeting Johnny and his wife Gayle at their home in Madisonville, KY. Our own Tom Buddig was on hand to present Johnny and Gayle with their $50,000 Grand Prize check — and as an added bonus, he enjoyed lunch and an afternoon with the entire Lutz family.

About the Lutz's
Johnny retired from the USPS after 32 years as a mail carrier. Since retiring, he's been working in a variety of odd jobs within the community he's lived his entire life. His wife Gayle, after retiring from a job as a medical records clerk at the local nursing home, now spends her time babysitting the grandchildren.

Johnny grew up eating bologna and cheese sandwiches. About two years ago, Gayle started buying Buddig Original for a change of pace. Both quickly realized that Buddig makes a better sandwich, and now they're hooked! They’ve also enjoyed participating in all our Buddig promotions, though Johnny is obliged to point out – this is the first time they've won!

Spending the Money
While Johnny and Gayle haven't settled on final plans for how they're going to spend their winnings yet, they have a few potential ideas. Maybe new windows and carpeting for the house? Or maybe something a little more fun — there's a planned visit to Phoenix this fall. Gayle has never flown before, and she's looking forward to seeing the Grand Canyon. And speaking of special occasions, the couple's 50th wedding anniversary is this year, and Johnny was just thinking that a new ring would look great on Gayle!

Looking back on his experience winning the Dream Big Grand Prize, Johnny said, "It still all seems like a dream to us!" We love a story with a happy ending!
